Title I Educational Services

Title 1, Part A is a federal program created by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).  Through Title 1 the federal government provides financial assistance to states and school districts to meet the needs of educationally at-risk students. To help these students meet the state’s rigorous educational standards, Title I programs provide students with extra instructional services and activities.

Students who receive Title I support will get extra support from a provider. This support can look different. It can be a small group or individual instruction for math, reading, or writing. It can also be a whole class coach that is assisting with the planning and implementation of curriculum.

Cardinal Lacroix Academy Title I programs offer:

  • Summer programs

  • After school tutoring

  • Intervention instruction

Hello! I am excited to to provide Title I Math and Reading services to support teachers and students at Cardinal Lacroix Academy! I am licensed for Elementary Education and as a Reading and Writing Specialist. My work experience includes being a Title I paraprofessional in Kindergarten, a classroom teacher in 1st, 2nd, and 4th, a Reading Specialist in a PreK-4th school, and I taught Pre-k through 5th during the summers. I am also a Certified Dyslexia Practitioner.

I love figuring out where students are at academically and then moving them forward. I look forward to working closely with the classroom teachers and families to promote optimal learning for our students.

On a personal note, I have a son who loves to sing and dance, read books, and spend time outside. When I have free time, I love skiing in the winter, hiking when it’s warmer, and learning new “tools for my toolbox.” I believe that if you learn enough approaches, you can find one, or a part of one, that meets students’ needs.

Eligibility

Students who live in Manchester are eligible to receive Title I services. Students are selected based on their academic need for math or reading. Academic need is determined by multiple factors that may include state testing, class-wide screenings, teacher recommendations based on curriculum assessments and daily performance, and additional probes regarding foundational skills.
